Vacancy Description
Are you an experienced Estimator with a strong track record in utility-scale renewable energy projects? We’re looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Client’s growing team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of clean energy.
As a Senior Estimator, you’ll be responsible for producing detailed, accurate, and competitive Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for major project scopes — including fencing, civils/earthworks, mechanical & electrical (M&E), ducting, trenching, and related infrastructure works. Your input will directly influence project success from tender through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed cost estimates and BoQs for large-scale renewable energy projects (solar PV, wind, BESS)
- Interpret project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to prepare accurate material and labour costings
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive and competitive tenders
- Analyse and assess risks, contingencies, and commercial factors that impact cost planning
- Support bid submissions and present cost data to internal stakeholders and clients
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing, construction methods, and best practices
- Ensure all estimates comply with current regulations, standards, and internal quality procedures
What they’re Looking For
- 5+ years of estimating experience, ideally in renewable energy or large infrastructure projects
- Proven experience preparing BoQs for:
- Fencing
- Earthworks & Civils
- Ducting & Trenching
- Mechanical & Electrical works
- Solid understanding of renewable energy construction processes and methodologies (e.g. solar PV, wind turbines, BESS)
- Experience working with EPC contractors or renewable energy developers
- High level of commercial awareness and market insight
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a team-oriented approach
