 SRS Recruitment Solutions are delighted to be supporting a market-leading manufacturer and distributor within the Plumbing & Heating sector with the appointment of a Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain professional to join an established and growing business and play a key role in its continued development.

Based at the company’s headquarters in Santry, Dublin, the successful candidate will join the Operations Leadership Team and take responsibility for purchasing, demand planning, inventory optimisation and supplier performance.

 

The Role

As Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and develop the Purchasing & Supply Chain team.
  • Develop and implement the purchasing and supply chain strategy.
  • Manage supplier performance, relationships and commercial negotiations.
  • Own demand planning and forecasting across the business.
  • Lead purchasing activities including supplier scheduling, replenishment planning and inbound supply.
  • Drive inventory optimisation, stock management and working capital improvements.
  • Develop and embed Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse and Finance to improve customer service and order fulfilment.
  • Manage supplier risk, continuity planning and supply chain resilience.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce excess, obsolete and slow-moving stock.
  • Lead SKU rationalisation, product lifecycle management and new product introduction planning.
  • Monitor and report purchasing and supply chain KPIs.
  • Use data, technology and digital planning tools to improve supply chain performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement across purchasing, forecasting, inventory and supplier management.

 

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Senior-level experience within Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, distribution or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic purchasing and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience in demand planning, forecasting and inventory optimisation.
  • A strong understanding of S&OP / Integrated Business Planning.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and demand planning or inventory management software.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, risk and supply chain continuity.
  • Strong project and change management experience.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
  • The ability to work effectively across Sales, Operations, Finance and senior management.
  • A proactive and commercially focused approach with a strong continuous improvement mindset.
