We are delighted to offer the opportunity for a Bridge Design Engineer  to join our Client’s successful business at an exciting time in the further development of their brand in the UK market, where we are retained on a sole agency basis.

The Company

Our Client is a leading UK-based manufacturer and installer of innovative GRP bridges, boardwalks and decks.

Providing a full design, manufacture, supply, and installation service, they work with clients across both public and private sectors to deliver safe, sustainable, and visually striking structures.

As a Bridge Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in turning ideas into reality, working closely with the sales team and draughtsperson to create designs that meet technical, budget, and timeline requirements. This is a great opportunity to apply your structural engineering expertise in a role where innovation, sustainability, and design excellence go hand in hand.

The Role

Reporting to: Managing Director

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality design documentation including option appraisals, calculations, reports, specifications and construction documentation
• Undertake calculations and write content for Approvement in Principal documentation
• Review technical drawings to ensure they meet safety and design standards
• Provide engineering recommendations
• Attend site as and when required
• Communicate directly with clients when required

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Demonstrable experience in bridge analysis, design and assessment
• Structural design /civil engineering qualification
• Able to design bridges and structures that meet appropriate and current standards
• Able to interpret test results
• Familiar with FRP footbridges and boardwalks and the properties of FRP
• Commercial awareness
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team player but also able to work independently and to deadlines
• Proactive and self-motivating
