The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a well-established territory with a strong portfolio of existing accounts. As Business Development Manager for the South East region, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing current client relationships while also identifying and securing new business opportunities.

 

Reporting to: Managing Director

 

 

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Assume responsibility for managing a geographical customer base, including growing sales and managing existing accounts.
  • To identify, target and develop additional sales opportunities for all products.
  • To provide expert knowledge and technical support to all customers including branch staff and external sales teams, providing invaluable assistance in securing their sales opportunities for the business.
  • To propose and agree a range of stock profiles for customer branch network.
  • To monitor and review sales & margin across the product range regularly, addressing shortfalls and areas of concern, whilst highlighting areas of opportunity to the business.
  • To work closely with customers and their clients to provide valuable advice and assistance throughout various specification and build stages.
  • To successfully “Back Sell” specifications gained into new or existing customer base in order to maximize our leverage with the customer. (creating loyalty, support and encouraging stock to be held on the ground)
  • Work with Roofing sub-contractor and customer base to identify new sales opportunities
  • Handle customer complaints via the company complaints procedure
  • Adhere to all company processes to maximise efficiency and communicate internally
  • Attend company sales meetings and contribute towards reporting on local conditions, competitor activity and help shape the company sales strategy
  • Maintain customer information on company CRM database

 

The Candidate

Skills and experience required:

  • Ability to demonstrate a tenacious and resilient mindset
  • Be able to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Experience in ‘Back Selling’ via Merchants & Distributors
  • Understanding of Buying Groups
  • Experience in Roofing Products is desirable but not essential
  • Proficient with MS packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Flexible with business travel requirements

On going training and support will be given to ensure success.
