The business has built a strong reputation for product quality, reliability and customer service, supplying professional installers, plumbers, distributors and trade customers throughout the UK. With a dedicated warehouse and distribution facility, substantial stockholding and purpose-built training facilities, the company combines technical expertise with a strong focus on customer support, product development and industry-leading standards.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth across a designated territory.

This is a strategic field sales role focused on identifying and converting opportunities while developing profitable, long-term relationships with new and existing stockists along with contractors and installers.

Operating on a fully remote basis, this role requires an individual who is highly organised, self-motivated and disciplined, with exceptional time and diary management skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

• Develop and implement a territory sales plan to achieve agreed sales, margin and growth targets.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across distribution, mechanical contractors and installers.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms and follow up on sales opportunities to maximise conversion rates.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer requirements, providing regular feedback to the Sales Director.
• Identify projects at an early stage and manage opportunities through to product selection, specification and installation.
• Deliver product demonstrations and practical installation training to customers and installers.
• Support customers during installations and assist with resolving product-related technical queries.

4. Distribution and Customer Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with plumbing and mechanical services merchants and distribution partners.
• Work with branch managers, counter staff and internal sales teams to improve product knowledge, awareness and sales performance.
• Support customer promotions, product launches, branch training and other sales initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to increase stockholding, product availability and sales through distribution.
• Ensure customers receive a professional, responsive and consistent level of service.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Proven experience in an external sales role within the plumbing, heating, mechanical services or building services industry.
• A strong understanding of plumbing and mechanical services distribution, contractors and installers.
• Experience selling technical products and developing customer relationships.
• The ability to identify and develop project opportunities and secure product specifications.
• Confidence in delivering product demonstrations and technical installation training.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to achieve agreed sales targets.
• A self-motivated, organised and proactive approach to managing a geographical sales territory.
• A full UK driving licence.
