<p><strong>The Role </strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate will be responsible for generating and developing sales opportunities with main contractors, specialist subcontractors, and builders’ merchants throughout North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. The role will focus on both new-build and refurbishment projects across a broad range of construction sectors.</p>
<p>Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, the position will involve building and maintaining a strong customer base while driving profitable sales growth and securing project opportunities for the company’s East London, West London, and Maidstone branches. The role requires a commercially minded and proactive individual who is confident engaging with key decision-makers, developing long-term relationships, and converting opportunities into measurable business growth.</p>
<p><strong>The Candidate </strong></p>
<p>In order to be successful in this role, you will need to enjoy working within a fast-paced sales environment where professionalism and a high levels of customer service are key to success.</p>
<p>As you will be taking an active role as a member of the sales team, you will need to have a flair for sales and enjoy working to targets and meeting sales goals.</p>
<p>Experience in the construction industry either in merchanting or distribution is advantageous along with the ability to work autonomously as well as working as part of a team.</p>

<p><strong>Overall Purpose of the Job</strong></p>
<p>To achieve and exceed the annual sales and margin targets within the assigned area by promoting and selling the company’s complete roofing product range. The role focuses on managing, developing and expanding the Specialist Roofing Contractor (SRI) network, with a particular emphasis on recruiting new contractors and increasing specification-led opportunities across multiple market sectors.</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Achieve agreed annual sales, margin and KPI targets for the area.</li>
<li>Recruit a minimum of <strong>five new SRI contractors per quarter</strong>, each achieving a minimum annual spend.</li>
<li>Manage, develop and retain existing SRI contractors, progressing Bronze and Silver contractors toward Gold and Platinum status.</li>
<li>Generate new sales opportunities within the specification sector, targeting sectors such as Property Management, Facilities Management, Local Authorities, Education, Healthcare, Housing Associations and CIF-funded projects.</li>
<li>Calculate material costings for all projects under 100 m².</li>
<li>Establish, maintain and grow strong relationships with contractors, specifiers and key stakeholders.</li>
<li>Submit a minimum of <strong>one case study per quarter</strong> to support marketing and brand visibility.</li>
<li>Maintain a strong understanding of competitor activity, market trends and product developments.</li>
<li>Attend trade shows, seminars and industry events as required.</li>
<li>Provide accurate sales forecasts, reports and updates to senior management.</li>
<li>Manage personal workload, journey planning and expenses effectively to maximise territory coverage and efficiency.</li>

<li>Understanding of bonded, mechanically fixed and ballasted roofing systems, including green roof applications.</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of relevant British and European Standards and roofing codes of practice.</li>
<li>Clear understanding of construction contractual relationships between client, main contractor, subcontractor and supplier, as well as the design team.</li>
<li>Awareness of external bodies such as Building Control, NHBC and FM.</li>
<li>Competent IT skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word and CRM systems.</li>
<li>Proven ability to plan workloads effectively and optimise travel routes.</li>

<p><strong>Are you a driven sales professional with experience in building relationships with Housebuilders, Developers and Architects through project tracking and strategic business development?</strong></p>

<p><strong>If so, we are working with a well-established supplier of heavyside building products who are looking to appoint a Sales and Project Manager to help them capitalise on opportunities across the South of England. </strong></p>
<p><strong>                                                </strong></p>
<p><strong>The Role </strong></p>
<p>You will be responsible for the sales of our Client’s products across a defined territory, the Sales &amp; Project Manager will develop and manage a comprehensive project pipeline to ensure territory sales targets are achieved and exceeded.</p>
<p>The role requires proactively raising the company’s profile among key stakeholders within the region. This includes engaging directly with architectural practices to influence product specification, while building new and strengthening existing, mutually beneficial trading relationships with building contractors and developers.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Specific duties would include:   </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Sales of all company product ranges to meet agreed budgets through the successful specification that lead to completed orders.</li>
<li>Project Tracking: Desktop research and extensive outbound telephone call levels inline with company guidelines (minimum 3 days a week, office based, time commitment on this source of pipeline development)</li>
<li>Successfully progress planning leads provided by the company for future target projects from architectural stage(s) through to contractor stage and subsequent successful order won. 100% ownership of own project pipeline.</li>
<li>Identification and follow-up of new sales opportunities through new contractors, developers, sub contractors and clients</li>
<li>2 days per week minimum field based activity in face to face (and where appropriate video conference) meetings in both office environments and construction site settings to secure commitment, develop relationships, promote and secure order and periodically</li>
<li>CRM / Project tracking database management with detailed project notes.</li>
<li>Management of current orders to ensure they run effectively, timely and to the benefit of the business – Correct management of site schedules, ensure call offs and additional product orders placed.</li>

<p><strong>If so, we are working with a leading manufacturer of Drainage and building products who are looking to appoint an Area Sales Manager to join their team with responsibility for promoting their solutions across the Northern region. </strong></p>

<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for promoting our Client’s high-quality, market-leading range of building and drainage solutions by generating project opportunities and building relationships with key target customers to gain product usage.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Specific duties would include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Develop existing relationships and create new ones so that our Client is the customers 1st choice for their range of products.</li>
<li>Understand the specification process.</li>
<li>Track and follow up on project opportunities from Tender stage</li>
<li>Raise the Company’s profile within its existing key stockist base, setting up business plans and sharing project information.</li>
<li>Deliver training and product presentations to Contractors and Merchants.</li>
<li>Be able to negotiate prices within agreed parameters to give the company the best margin opportunities.</li>
<li>Dealing with customers’ day-to-day requirements.</li>
<li>Knowledge of reading site drawings would be helpful.</li>
<li>Promote and sell new product ranges.</li>
<li>Achieve agreed targets.</li>
<li>Where necessary, assist with New Product Development areas.</li>
<li>Identifying key installing contractors, setting up trading terms and building long-term business objectives</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required </strong></p>
<p>In order to be successful in this role, you will need experience in dealing with one or more of the following: Main Contractors, Roofing Contractors and Architects along with experience in managing key merchant accounts.</p>
<ul>
<li>Self-motivated individual who can work well either on their own or in a team in a highly proactive sales environment.</li>
<li>Ability to manage your own area, introduce tailored customer business plans to drive sales forward.</li>
<li>Track record of Solution Selling</li>
<li>A clean drivers’ licence is essential.</li>
<li>Previous experience as an AREA Sales Manager or similar field-based role</li>
<li>Competent IT skills are required, will need to know how to use MS Office &amp; Outlook.</li>
<li>Good communication skills with a friendly approach are needed.</li>
<li>The ability to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail is a must.</li>
<li>Sound commercial acumen and an ability to communicate with colleagues and customers to assist the closing of sales opportunities.</li>
<li>A high degree of professionalism and a good understanding of specifier, contractor and merchant relationships is required, with the ability to communicate at each of these levels where necessary.</li>
